April 18, 2011: I discontinued War and Peace because it just went on and on about a party and talked about how bad the princess is. So I started a new book called Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. This book is the prequel to the Mortal Instruments series she previously published. This book is about a girl named Tessa Gray. She is traveling to London to live with her brother Nathaniel. But she gets kidnapped by the Dark Sisters (Tessa's nickname for them). She soon finds out that she has a special talent. She is a shape-changer, but instead of changing into animals or inanimate objects, she can change into any person she wants. Even the dead. She also finds out about the the unseen worlds of the Downworlders and the Shadowhunters or Nephilum. She escapes from the Dark sisters and tries to find her brother. She gets help from the shadowhunters. Tessa finds Nathaniel in a vampire clan when she transformed into a vampire. She saves him but he's very sick. Other characters include Will, Jem, Charlotte, Henry, Sophie, Thomas and Jessie.

April 1, 2011: I'm still reading War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, but my kindle doesn't have page numbers it has percentages. So I'm 1% done with my book. The funny thing is I've read like 10 kindle pages, so this is definitely what I was looking for. My favorite quote so far is "First of all, dear friend, tell me how you are. Set your friend's mind at rest." I like this because I have many friends that are concerned with he welfare of their friends, so it reminded me of how loved I am. Here's a picture of the book.

March 24, 2011: War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. I got this book from amazon.com for my kindle. I chose this book for something long to read. I always have a book that's too short for my taste so reading this book should satisfy me. The book tells the events leading to the French invasion on Russia in graphic detail. The book also depicts the impact of the Napoleonic era in a Tsarist society in the early 1800s. The views are told from five different aristocratic families in Russia. Tolstoy himself, somewhat enigmatically, said of War and Peace that it was "not a novel, even less is it a poem, and still less a historical chronicle."(From wikipedia, author unknown). I have yet to start reading the book.

March 4, 2011:
Characters:
*Xander King: This is a boy of fifteen and doesn't like the idea of moving away from all his memories and , of course, his girlfriend. His physical features are he has brown hair, hazel eyes (like his mom) and he's a little on the short side. In the book you find out that he has two younger siblings, a mom and dad.
*David King: The younger brother of Xander. He's about twelve and is not interested in girls yet. He only cares about video games and soccer. Him and xander have a weird experience falling through their linen closet into locker 119 at their future school.
*Mr. King (Dad): A high school history teacher that was transfered to the school where Xander and David happened upon. There is a secret with him that you don't find out until the end.
Plot:
The story begins with the King family driving to find a new home. The kids a re being roudy and are asked to cease their shinanagins until the get to the motel where they will be staying for a couple of days. The next day they all go house shopping. All of the houses seem too boring for their taste until they find one hidden in the woods. its a perfect victorian style house. Over the next few days they get all their stuff into the house and also explore inside and out. One night Toria starts screaming and when everyone comes a running there's nothing to be found. So the boys stay in her room and no more than a few hours later, another tragedy strikes. To find out what it is, read this book.
Rating:
I give this book a 4 because at parts, it was really good and others it explained to much and got boring. Then it would do something crazy and get my interest back.
Reviewing other books:
There weren't any books that caught my attention but I'm planning on reading the book Water for Elephants. Someone recomended the book to me and it sounded interesting to me.

review 400000000000000313456_s4.png February 10, 2011: I recently acquired a new book (well not new but I'm reading a different book). This book is called House of Shadows by Robert Liparulo. The main character's name is Xander King, he's fifteen and thinks moving from his old home in Pasadena, California to "Hickville, USA" is the bee's knees. He has two siblings, a brother and a sister, and their names are Toria and David. Toria is seven with a passion for make believe and her bestie is non other than a stuffed teddy bear that repeats whatever you say (the bear gets on Xander's nerves frequently). David is twelve and an avid gamer. He loves sports but his favorite sport is soccer. Their mom is a stay at home mom and their dad is a history teacher. The King family moves into a house that was on the market for a while . Later the boys and their father find out that the house has a rumor that the previous family was murdered by the father and then took his own life. The best part of this book is when the find the secret portal that takes them to locker number 119 in the school they are going to be attending. There really isn't a bad part in this book. January 27, 2011: I am reading The Unsuspecting Mage by Brian S. Pratt. How I obtained this novel is I was on Amazon.com looking for books for my Kindle and I happened across this book, it sounded very interesting. What drew me though was the review of the book. Previous readers had said that this book was "very interesting in ways that would blow your mind" or "if you like books about mystical beings, this one is full!" I like stuff that and it was free so that was also a plus. The main character's name is James, he is a senior in high school. The only bad part about being a senior is he doesn't have a job or a car and he isn't that social. James always brings a lunch to school and every day when he sits down to eat, he finds a newspaper clipping of job offers that his grandparents stow away in his lunch sack. One day, one of those slips interests him. The slip was for a position in magic. He, who likes all that sort of stuff, wants an interview with the person. So the next morning, which is Saturday, he goes to the destination. He is told by his grandmother to be careful because there have been strange disappearances in his town. He gets to the building and goes to the room where he needs to be interviewed. Upon getting there, the room is vacant accept for chairs and a side table with magazines on it. A single door is at the other end of the room. While looking through the magazines, he finds an odd looking book. It tells him to read the first page and then step through the door. As he steps through, he gets sent to a time before electricity. James's problem is how does he get back to his time period. But when walked through the door he was given amazing powers. He has a limit to his powers though. All in all, this book is very good.
